Job Description

The Data Management and Analytics group in the central technology organization is responsible for enabling and enforcing superior Data Management and analytical technology across the consumer and community banking businesses.

As part of this function, we provide oversight for all technology projects to ensure excellent planning, design, execution and delivery; provide enterprise-level development resources for shared applications and services; and are responsible for advising the management about the technology landscape.

We provide oversight in various forms – from program/project management oversight to development and quality assurance to general architectural guidance.

The Big Data developer is responsible for owning and driving the technical innovation along with big data technologies.

The individual is a subject matter expert technologist with strong Java experience and very knowledgeable in the Big Data Concepts/Ecosystem and APIs.

This person will be part of successful Big Data implementations for large data integration initiatives.

The candidates for this role must be willing to push the limits of traditional development paradigms typically found in a data-centric organization while embracing the opportunity to gain subject matter expertise in a variety of data assets ranging from financial to digital/mobile.

Qualifications

Strong Java and other functional programming skills

Experience with JavaScript web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, jQuery)

7+ years of solid system development experience leveraging a variety of the following technologies:

5+ years Java/Spring/SQL

2+ years Design and develop RESTful Web Services

2+ years Compiler (JavaCC)

Experience using one or more of: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, JDBC, ODBC, Greenplum

2+ years experience in Big Data : Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, HBase, Map-Reduce, No SQL (Mongo, Casandra), Kafka

2+ years Maven and Build Scripts, Jenkins

Knowledge in Apache /Other Open Source Projects

Design Experience in Large Complex Multi-terabyte data environments

Solid understanding of design patterns

Solid understanding of application program interfaces (APIs), messaging software and interoperability techniques and standards

Team collaboration maintaining exceptional code, architecture and documentation

Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
