Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer will be will be joining a team responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining IT systems.

The Systems Engineer is expected to assist the Senior Engineering Staff on the most mission critical technologies deployed throughout while maintaining responsibility for security and availability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or similar field

Expert in Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.

Proficient in implementing, managing and maintaining VMware vSphere and related technologies.

Proficient in moderate to advanced networking technologies.

Proficient in Microsoft Exchange and / or Office 365.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are required

Familiarity with managing and maintaining Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS)

Familiar with implementing, managing and maintaining storage technologies such as Fiber channel, iSCSI and Direct Attach SAN.

Familiar with Microsoft SQL server administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Familiarity implementing and administering Citrix Xenapp and Netscaler a plus

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, maintain, document, and performance tune production systems and infrastructure

Identify and implement monitoring of key system availability components.

Perform application or infrastructure upgrades, migrations, testing etc.

Make recommendations for architectural changes to IT infrastructure to enhance reliability, performance and security.
