Job Description

Technical Lead - Data Platform

Location: Remote Work Option

Seeking Senior Software Engineer for a Data Platform team.

A log management company based San Francisco is looking for remote engineers to help build out their SaaS application in a highly scalable, high volume, and real-time environment.

This is a newer technology company with great benefits and very competitive compensation.

Responsibilities:

-Mentoring associate and mid-level developers

-Be an expert with platform security, scalability, resiliency and availability

-Have excellent written and verbal communications skills for telecommunication

Requirements:

-8-10 years of experience building software systems in large-scale distributed environments.

-SaaS and big data experience helpful

-Experience developing for distributed systems that run across thousands of compute nodes.

-Built and operated distributed applications in cloud infrastructure.

-Build services on data pipelines processing multi-terabytes to petabytes of data and running on state of the art Big data technology stack using Kafka, Zookeeper, Elasticsearch etc.

-Experience in building SaaS application for processing big data in real-time.

-Work closely with product and engineering teams to understand business requirements and architecture of software systems.

-Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Technical Skills:

-At least 8 years of experience with server-side Java.

-Extensive experience in authoring multi-threaded, high-performance code

-Expert understanding of data structures, algorithms, software engineering design pattern and principles

-Extensive experience with multi-tier service oriented architecture

-Extensive experience with building REST API using Java, JSON HTTP, RDBMS.

-Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper and Amazon AWS platform is a major plus

-Extensive experience of Unix/Linux environment

-Extensive experience building unit test and debugging systems
