Job Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for hands on manual and automated testing including system integration, database validation, regression, end to end and performance testing of moderate to complex web-based SaaS applications.

A successful candidate must be a self-starter, fast learner and part of the cross-functional Agile Scrum software development team.

This person is a strong technology professional and test automation developer with significant experience in the healthcare marketing industry.

The position will include working with distributed business and technical resources and external vendors to analyze problems encountered in testing and determining changes required to correct problems.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for ongoing, continuous improvement in testing efficiency and effectiveness through the use of innovative Quality Assurance practices and tools, and close
collaboration with the development, infrastructure and business organizations

Explains difficult or sensitive information in a diplomatic way; works to build consensus.

Proactively shares experiences and knowledge towards the achievement of team objectives.

Ensure that all feature deliverables meet quality objectives in functionality, performance, stability, security, accessibility and data quality

Create testing-related documentation, including test strategy, test plans, test cases/scripts, and defect reports assessing quality and associated risk

Participate actively in functional, system, integration and regression testing activities (manual and automated testing) within project timelines

Work with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Software developers and other QA engineers in an Agile team environment

Develop deep expertise in the product and be passionate about creating the absolute best customer experience for the product

Coordinate and lead of test plans for all levels of testing

Conduct walkthroughs and reviews related to testing and implementation readiness

Recording and tracking problems encountered during the testing effort

Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems encountered during testing effort

Establishing software testing procedures for unit test, system integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures

Establishing a validation and verification capability which assumes functional and performance compliance

Ensuring that all problems and deviations from specifications and user stories are brought to the attention of management in a timely manner

Viewing information from the customer’s perspective, incorporating the client’s perspective in how work is delivered, supporting the UAT testing

Using first-hand customer information to improve products and services

Adding value by matching client requirements with products or services, taking into account ability to deliver

Seeking internal or external client perceptions of value delivered, adjusting one’s work to ensure value delivery

Being flexible and responsive to the client’s changing needs

Working proactively to resolve identified problems and minimize concerns

Required Skills & Experience

BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

3+ years of relevant hands on manual and automated testing experience in digital, Web and SaaS applications

Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing

Knowledge of software Quality Assurance methodologies, tools, and processes

Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases

Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting

Data Science skillset in the context of being able to use analytical tools for information discovery, exploratory testing, and Quality Assurance analysis.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and TDD (Test Driven Development)

Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

Understanding of SaaS, Web technology, Database validation, data transformation and BI reporting such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, web services, VB.Net, SQL Server, SQL,
Store Procedure, SFTP, QlikView

Hands on experience with JIRA, Service Desk and Confluence

Hands on experience on open source automation and performance tool like Selenium and
JMeter or other commercial automation tools

Experience developing cloud-based software solutions.

Understanding of Pharmaceutical digital marketing industry is preferred
