IT Project Manager

Minneapolis, MN Downtown

12 month Contract

Travel: Approximately 50% travel; 1-2 weeks / month travel to Lelystad, Netherlands

SUMMARY:

Lead a large-scale, innovative technology project incorporating state-of-the-art software and hardware solutions.

Both hardware, infrastructure and software choices have an impact on each other.

Leading an international team of software developers (6-10), working closely with both internal (Business and IT) and external (Design) teams.

Responsible for tuning development sprints and taking the lead in the management of the development work, with a strong focus on deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

Manages IT projects with substantial financial and operational scope.

Manages global teams; allocates resources and applies an in-depth understanding of technology, business and operations.

Manages different software languages (Java, .NET, C#, etc.), supports developers in their development process on a high level and has ability to validate correctness of software structures.

Develops broad and complex project plans, which includes determining project scope, project resources, costs, timelines, and facilitating communications within the project.

Ability to set challenging targets, follows through on timelines and effectively manages risks.

Utilizes Agile Methodology to manage team development using two-week sprint model.

Ability to create strong team rapport with multi-location groups. Will work together with a group of American and Dutch developers, as well as design and process specialists and design teams.

Reviews and evaluates project and group reports, analyses, and outcomes to ensure conformity with objectives determines corrective action and implements changes.

Serves as a technical resource for business groups, IT professionals, and vendors, and responds to comprehensive and specialized questions and concerns from management regarding group project design and scope, budgetary requirements, capital and equipment needs, and other areas.
