Summary
The Data Analytics Specialist will support the Analytics & Data Governance team within the Financial Crimes Risk Management department.
The team’s overall responsibility is to assist in the development, enhancement, and implementation of the Bank’s AML and fraud surveillance strategy, through the extensive use of analytics.
This position is responsible for analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of AML & Fraud transaction monitoring alerts based on "above-the-line productivity analysis and "below-the-line sensitivity testing.
This role will require participation in AML & Fraud Rule tuning exercises through the usage of statistical analysis on large datasets.
This position also responsible for supporting the overall design, development, and delivery of dashboard metrics related to the data and systems within the Financial Crimes environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts regular quantitative analysis of AML model output to verify model accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Builds statistical models to test effectiveness of proposed threshold parameters for Rule rewrites
Assists in user testing of enhancements to AML, OFAC, and the client risk assessment systems.
Develops scorecards, metrics, and other line of business-level reporting.
Complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business or related field (e.g., Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science); two to four years of proven experience in analyzing data in the financial services sector, or related industry. Tuning and optimizing AML monitoring systems and scenarios is a plus.
Competencies
Demonstrated knowledge of data management (storage, structure, security, integrity), systems, and analytics.
Demonstrated knowledge of data modeling capacities to build multivariate regression models, perform cluster analysis, run data descriptives (z score, t score, t test, f test, etc.)
Experience working with large datasets and some querying capability (data manipulation/reporting) required.
Mathematical or Statistical background a plus.
Experience with the Client FCRM and/or Crowe Horwath Client systems a plus.
Some experience with statistical software packages including SQL, SAS, R, SPSS, etc
Computer Skills
Experience with the Client FCRM and the Crowe Horwath Client systems, QlikView, Tableau, SAS, Python, Knowledge Seeker Spotfire, SQL, R-Studio, MS VBA and Visio a plus.
