Minneapolis, MN Downtown

6-month Contract

Experienced Java Web Developer with strong working knowledge of Apache, Tomcat and with experience in implementing best practices in web security including but not limited to preventing cross-site scripting, SQL injections, and broken authentication.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads the troubleshooting and testing of programs to ensure operational quality and integrity; utilizes various programming codes and languages.

Prioritizes outlines, responds to and resolves broad programming and information technology questions and concerns regarding applications and/or functional areas.

Serves as the second level of programming and related system support with investigating problems, integrating programs, developing reports, and related areas, documents requirements, and determines appropriate solutions; forwards other functional questions to appropriate groups as required.

Serves as the programming lead across projects, assists with setting technical standards and programming requirements, integrates applications across multiple groups or divisions, and communicates with mid-level project management; may delegate work to lower staff.

Coordinates the programming support for teams and business functions to develop, troubleshoot, and update programs and applications; tests results and ensures standards across the group.

Responds to a matrix of other professionals and management to understand and isolate problems, resolve questions and concerns, and provide customer service; utilizes other contacts in a similar nature.

Provides advanced or specialized professional assistance to information technology professionals and end-users in developing programs and applications, offering training and guidance on operations, and meeting business needs.

Frequent interaction with Programming management and influences IT middle management to achieve results; represents the function in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Works under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions; work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Experienced Java web developer (with requisite HTML, JavaScript and CSS skills); required
Knowledge of PHP - a plus

Working knowledge of Eclipse, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, SQL, GitHub, SVN

Experience with Web Security best practices (preventing cross-site scripting, SQL injections, etc.)
