Senior Android Developer

$120,000 - $140,000/year

Position Summary: You will be part of an engineering team that focuses on the research and development of complex, embedded systems.

This position will involve software development and design for real-time/pseudo real-time embedded systems.

You will be part of a core design group architecting mobile software solutions in the Android/LINUX world.

This is a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment working with a highly skilled team.

Position Overview:

Develop software in the Android and LINUX environments using C, C++, Java

Participate in Agile Scrum product planning and management activities

Ensure work-product is of high quality through the use of best practices such as code documentation and the use of automated code analysis tools

Participate in the requirements gathering, requirement analysis, design, code, test and
maintenance phases of software product development lifecycle

Participate in design and development that crosses technical areas

Function as a technical lead for the design and implementation of various sub-systems

Enjoy working in multiple languages, frameworks and environments

Comfortable working and collaborating in a fast-paced, Agile (Scrum) development environment

Provide recommendations on priorities that align with business and technical objectives

Ability to independently create design specs and documentation that cross technical areas

Ability to work independently on medium-sized projects

Independently understand, validate and refine requirements across multiple technical areas

Required Skills:

BS in CS, CE, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer developing commercial
applications on embedded systems using C or C++

2+ years of experience writing Android applications in Java

Architectural design experience for embedded systems. Solid LINUX/Android background

Experience with Unit, Integration and Functional testing

Communications protocols experience

Well versed in iterative software development processes

Preferred Skills:

LINUX system administration

LINUX shell script programming

Android Internals knowledge

Android NDI Experience

Worked in the transportation, logistics or fleet management

Demonstrates technical leadership

Demonstrates project ownership - ability to see a project through to completion
