Network Security Engineer

Required Background:

Experience with designing and deploying security solutions such as NAC, 802.1x,
Firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, Proxies, DLP, DDoS, and Malware inspections solutions

Experience deploying and implementing network micro-segmentation using a tool such as
Illumio, Cisco ACI, vARMOUR, NSX, or other similar software defined networking solution.

A broad knowledge of information security principles. 3+ years of experience in the network security discipline, or related information security experience

3+ years of fundamental network experience with a solid understanding of OSI layers, TCP/IP, routing, firewalling, load balancing, VLANs, etc.

Experience taking a project from requirements gathering through the design, testing, and deployment phases

Strong project management, analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking and effective communication skills.

Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn.

Must be comfortable in delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding

Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas and come up with solutions and/or workarounds in a face paced environment

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience

One or more engineering level certification preferred (e.g.; CCNA, CCNA-Security, CCNP R/S, PCNSE, Security+, CISM, CCSP, etc).

Desired Skills:

Knowledge and experience architecting complex enterprise cybersecurity solutions

Experience securing virtual environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google
Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, and VMware

Experience with third party network security controls, such as Palo Alto Networks,
Bluecoat, Checkpoint, Juniper, F5, Cisco, or FireEye and SIEM tools such as Splunk

Experience working with ForeScout or other Network Access Control solutions, preferably with lab testing, design, and operational support

Ability to understand the requirements and analyze the technical feasibility and design against the requirements.

Experience with Microsoft Active directory, securing/hardening Windows endpoints, and host based firewalling

Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: AWS CLI, Bash, Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript

Possess significant breadth across other disciplines (e.g., cloud security, compute services, storage, large-scale networking, virtualization, data center, integration architecture (API), orchestration technologies (Puppet), systems resiliency, service support, application development lifecycle management (DevOps), and service delivery).

Master degree, CISSP, or CCNP
