Sr. Application Support Analyst

Financial Services Client

Downtown NYC

$120K-$130K base + bonus

Client Service Delivery Technology team is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst.

The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and supporting moderately complex client / server applications on Microsoft platform.

Role:

The successful candidate is expected to train and assist developers in addition to maintaining, troubleshooting and expanding usage of the IBM Application Discovery tool.

Install and support the IBM Application Discovery (IBM AD) Tool on windows based servers running Windows 2016 and MS SQL Server.

Maintain current patch levels, troubleshoot any issues with the software, train Mainframe
Developers on how to use the tool, schedule nightly backups, insure the system can be recovered.

Partner with Mainframe developers to automate more in -depth analyses and reports of code using Shell scripts and SQL queries.

In addition to the Application Support Analyst will have the opportunity to undertake projects of significant impact within the IT group.

Will be tasked with moderately complex projects related to budget, business plans, risk-related items, and implementation of policies, standards, and/or methodologies.

Conduct advanced data analysis to assist with strategic management initiatives.

Work with the technology management team to implement and enforce policies, standards, and methodologies.

Contribute to the achievement of related teams' objectives.

Responsibilities:

Must have 3 to 5 years of experience installing and supporting Windows based applications, Servers and Desktops.

Expert in writing SQL queries and Shell scripts.

Must be hands on with end user support.

Must have good troubleshooting skills.

Should have good technical writing skills.

Mainframe knowledge and COBOL coding experience a Plus.

Microsoft Server Certification a plus

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 8-10 years of diverse experience in multiple areas of information technology required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
