CLOUD SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
Seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join an established but growing financial organization downtown Chicago.
The Cloud Solutions Architect should have a strong background with Azure and the MS stack.
You should be detailed, organized, disciplined and possess strong Project Management skills in addition to being hands-on.
The ideal candidate will also have the ability to help establish processes and procedures for the architecture team. Excellent communication skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the effort to develop and execute a platform/application portfolio assessment strategy for all on-premise systems across the firm.
This strategy will define the future state for platform/solution rationalization and conversion to IaaS, PaaS or SaaS.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure new environments, processes and solutions meet requirements and conform to architecture and DevOps best practices
Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable business agility and growth.
Work with other teams to automate deployment of applications, system configurations and security settings
Participate in the processes of strategic project-planning meetings. Provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits. Participate in creating development forecasts to allow for timely and accurate planning of projects.
Responsible for architecting cloud-based solutions using Azure service offerings including IaaS and PaaS.
Provide support for ongoing routine application maintenance tasks. Help create requirements and procedures for implementing routine maintenance. Troubleshoot and fix system errors.
Collaborate with other stakeholders on creating technology strategies and roadmaps
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related study.
10+ years of design and implementation experience in IT, with a deep knowledge in a minimum of three of the following technical disciplines: architecture, cloud platform, infrastructure and network design, application development, application programming interfaces (APIs), servers and storage, database management
Detail oriented with the capability of working on technical projects with limited supervision.
Strong knowledge of Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) online, Continuous Delivery pipelines with Azure
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment experience
Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies: Office 365, SharePoint Online, Exchange, Azure AD, etc.
Experience customizing and parameterizing Azure service offerings using JSON templates
Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and JavaScript required
Good understanding of front-end and back-end development within a .NET/Angular framework
History of leading application monitoring efforts and data life cycle management
Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls
Financial analysis skills strongly desired
Cloud certification desired
