Full Stack Python Web Developer

A rapidly growing streaming media and infrastructure company in Howard County, MD is looking to hire a strong Python Web Developer to their growing team.

This team is responsible for designing and maintaining web portals and online navigation for their client base, which includes some of the world’s largest and most premier media corporations.

An ideal fit will have a strong problem solving background and be able to tackle complex issues.

Experience and Skills

Experienced Python developer

Full stack development experience

Experience with web technologies and frameworks and standard web backend protocols (JavaScript, HTTP, REST, SQL)

Experience creating REST APIs for public services

Experience with AJAX JSON, JQUERY

Experience with developing in a Linux environment

Strong conceptual skills

Knowledge of usability principles, issues, and techniques

Able to evaluate tradeoffs between different technology architectures

Creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Initiative and ability to work independently, and as part of a small team

BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or significant relevant experience.

Pluses:

Advanced skills in C/C++, functional programming

Experience with network communication protocols

Experience with graphical representation of data in web sites

Experience in designing and building best in class services that are fast, reliable, secure, and highly available

Experience deploying and maintaining high scale web services
