Job Description

Our client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.
They are looking to add a senior DB2 Engineer to their Finance technology team.

The Finance Technology team is a global organization with around 200 employees providing technology solutions to regulatory and legal entity controllers across the regions, working on a combination of regional and global solutions that support the firms.

The primary focus of the team is on delivery of outstanding solutions to our internal business clients.

About the Role:

The specific area is working on the Tax Reform application.

In 2018 the Tax law changed and there is a large project to ensure Our client is compliant with the new regulations.

One of the key regulations the Base Erosion Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) which is requesting that Tax have reporting down to the transaction level.

Before this change Tax did not have to be this granular in regulatory reporting.

We are looking for developers who are willing to build a system to aggregate the vast amounts of transactional data into a store, and build analysis, reporting and filing capabilities.

The development will be done in DB2, Java and HTML5 (Angular/React).

We are actively looking for a DB2 developer who can help design and execute building the Database side of the application.

This includes all factions of the database design as well as authoring stored procedures and views as necessary.

We prefer developers to have some knowledge of other technologies outside their expertise so knowledge of Java, HTML5 and angular are a plus.

The team is following the scrum methodology for delivery and leveraging Jira for the sprint boards.

The goal is to build a co-located team in NY.

This project will touch a plethora of Financial products including derivatives, equities etc.

It is a good opportunity to understand some fine grain details of how those transactions are managed.

Skills Required:

The candidate must possess a strong technology background with excellent hands-on expert level knowledge of Java and Angular technology.

University degree holder in relevant discipline

Strong analytical skills

3-8 years software development experiences.

Knowledge of software development life cycle management.

Strong expertise in DB2 Development.

Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work on the same to meet business requirements.

Ability to work in team Bonus Skills

Working experience in finance services industry
