Our Client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.
The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments & individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.
They are currently looking to add a senior Business analyst to join their Development team
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to work with our business partners to manage the requirements phase of the SDLC.
This will include the definition and implementation of business analysis best practices and ownership of the related artefacts such as requirements, use cases, architecture diagrams and functional specification documents.
Position Description Duties will include the following:
Liaising with the business and subject matter experts to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and are aligned to the functional architecture.
Liaising with the development team to ensure that requirements are aligned to the IT architecture.
Working with the QA team to review test plans and test cases to ensure that all requirements have been properly interpreted and addressed by test cases.
Ensuring that each requirement is signed off and is fit for development? before development commences.
Definition and implementation of requirements best practices.
Responsible for the following artifacts: requirements, use cases, functional specifications, architecture diagrams, traceability matrixes and support documentation.
Review of defects to determine if the identified items are software bugs or testing misinterpretations.
Participation in post project reviews (called Retrospectives within the agile framework).
Identifying and escalating risk relating to the gathering of requirements.
Serving as a business subject matter expert and being a point person to support the development, testing and deployment phases from a business requirements perspective.
Skills Required
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to assimilate complex business problems and resolve ambiguous information into clearly articulated requirements and functional specifications.
Proven ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships with end users, technologists and project managers at all levels.
Understanding of the development lifecycle, and proven appreciation of the role of the IT analyst.
Previous Financial Services experience
Agile methodology experience
Skills Desired
Investment banking experience
Formal BA training / certification with either the International Institute of Business Analysis(IIBA) or BCS-ISEB.
