Job Description
NOC Analyst
The mission of the NOC is to provide a central location for real-time monitoring, detecting, troubleshooting, and driving efficient resolution of issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform proactive and reactive network/infrastructure monitoring and health checks to minimize service disruptions and impact to end users
Serve as primary initial responder in identifying issues, troubleshooting/correlating issues, assessing impact, and coordinating resolution
Engage resolution groups for troubleshooting; drive efficient resolution of issues
Document all activities in ticketing system
Develop and maintain documentation for efficient NOC operations (including maintaining inventory of sites, contacts, and infrastructure).
May provide assistance to end users, acting as backup to frontline technical support
Smoothly transfer information at the end of each shift with other NOC staff about any outstanding issues and tasks
Perform other duties as assigned to support the continued success of technology services
Requirements
3 or more years related experience
Technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills a must. Knowledge and Experience with a variety of systems, applications and tools using the Microsoft Windows platform.
Knowledge and Experience with Cisco networking technologies (CCNA or other Cisco certifications a plus)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional (Visio a plus)
Willingness to work any 24x7/365 shift on a rotating schedule, and must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed for proper NOC coverage (including weekends and holidays)
Ability to manage stress and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and complete assigned tasks
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Must work in a team environment and assist team members based on fluctuating workload
Requirements
3 or more years related experience
Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds Orion or Microsoft Systems
Center Operations Manager (SCOM) a plus)
Technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills a must.
Knowledge and experience with a
variety of operating systems, hardware, applications and tools
Knowledge of the OSI model and experience with Cisco networking technologies (CCNA, other
Cisco certifications a plus)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional and Visio
Good working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Operating systems and related products
using the Microsoft Windows platform (MCSE certification a plus).
Experience with virtualization (VM Ware) and Citrix suite of products (Xen App & Xen
Desktop)
Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Server 2008/2012, troubleshooting tools such as performance monitor
Willingness to work any 24x7/365 shift on a rotating schedule, and must be flexible to
cover other shifts as needed for proper NOC coverage (including weekends and holidays)
Capability to work from home (Requires Internet connection).
