Job Description

EMBEDDED LINUX ENGINEER

Allen/Richardson, TX

Base + Profit Share

We are hiring an Embedded Linux Software Engineer who will focus on embedded Linux implementations, provide support on Yocto Linux builds and manage/use Agile softare processes.

What You'll Do:

Develop and deploy new Yocto build environments for next generation hardware. Setup and configuration of board support packages.

Implement/maintain Linux kernel drivers.

Board/hardware bring-up in coordination with hardware team.

Support debugging and fixing field issues.

Analyze and develop software in C and C++ for multi-threaded real time systems.

Recreate field issues.

Understand hardware and device drivers.

Using a Jenkins-Robot Framework automated test environments, develop test scripts testing code stability and code changes.

Skills/Experience You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electical Engineering or a relevant field

7+ years of experience to review and analyze code and develop embedded firmware in C and C++.

3+ years of experience with embedded systems using Linux.

1+ year of recent experience building Yocto Linux images, customizing BitBake recipes, and developing Board Support Packages & hardware for new hardware.

3+ years of experience in debugging embedded system field issues.

3+ years of experience with micro-controllers and hardware/board bring up.

Must have experience with device drivers and system bring-up.
