IT Project Manager

6+ Month Contract

St. Paul, MN

Position Overview:

The main function of this project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.

Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.

Manage backup, security and user help systems.

Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.

Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.

Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.

5 - 7 years of project management experience. Leading a team of technical and business resources.

This includes on and offshore resources.

They must know the IT Development SDLC. Waterfall and Scrum framework and methodologies a must.

MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

PMI or PMP certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

Strong knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.

Must be a team player and good communicator – They must be able to work within a team
that is diverse. Communication with technical, business and senior leadership.

Must be able to follow through/follow-up.

They must be able to lead the team with multiple activities and parallel work efforts.

In this type of environment/project landscape things can fall through the cracks.

They must be able to manage these activities and ensure follow up and completion of tasks.

Proactive mentality and approach to managing projects and mitigating risk and thought leadership is a must
