Job Description
Application Support Manager
We are working with a growing logistics firm and they are currently looking for an Application Support Manager to work out of their headquarters in the western burbs of Chicago.
The Application Support Manager will be responsible for the day to day support of all enterprise applications as well as the management of daily activities of the Application Support Team.
The successful candidate should have experience supporting a complex, high availability application portfolio and demonstrate a passion for technology and collaborative problem solving.
The position requires in-depth technical skills, knowledge of industry best practices, IT service management, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Establish, improve, and maintain operational procedures, policies, reporting and standards for assigned work areas
Document and provide guidance to Application Support Team members on application deployment, change, and incident management processes
Participate in and manage assigned critical incidents to resolution including completion of root cause analysis
Participate and/or perform application or system upgrades
Support and maintain packaged applications
Install and upgrade of custom .NET applications
Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation
Manage, coach, and develop new and existing team members into a cohesive, collaborate team
Assesses opportunities for application and process improvement
Requirements
2+ years supporting Enterprise Applications in a corporate environment
Previous experience managing or leading a team
5+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment
Demonstrated ability to support and implement high availability software solutions
Knowledge of Windows server platforms (2008, 2012, and 2016)
Strong knowledge of Windows Remote Desktop technologies, IIS, Active Directory, and FTP
Experience with the deployment of custom .NET applications
Familiar with standard database and web development technologies such as .NET and
Microsoft SQL Server
Ability to install and configure Enterprise Applications
Experience with monitoring and log analysis tools
Solid understanding of application release methodologies and processes
ITIL v3 Foundations certification a plus
