Senior Applications Engineer

The Senior Applications Engineer is a senior role within the Enterprise Applications Group.

This Senior Application Engineer will be proficient in all aspects of application configuration, integration, implementation, and support.

The candidate should be self-driven and self-sufficient, and will work closely with the Enterprise Applications team and client contacts to provide high-quality operational and project support.

• Support clients' existing core and business applications, including configuration, patching and updates.

• Resolve application performance issues and complete root cause resolution.

• Research new and alternative technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or changes.

• Gather client requirements for configuration, customization and integration and deliver these requirements to the client's satisfaction.

• Design, test and implement installation processes for upgrades and new applications.

• Provide clear and early communication, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of progress, issues, and difficulties.

• Document standard resolutions so that common issues can be resolved without requiring escalation.

• Train other staff members as needed.

• Work with network team to provide support, guidance and monitoring of infrastructure and equipment related to enterprise applications.

• Participate in thorough impact analysis of all assigned application and infrastructure activities and understand the impact of work on systems and the business.

• Bachelor's degree.

• 6 years of experience supporting enterprise and business applications.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Strong understanding of the design, deployment and maintenance of desktop applications.

• Ability to complete root cause analysis on application-related issues

• Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues that involve application infrastructure.

• Ability to complete application-related infrastructure installations.

• Familiarity with Windows (all versions), Document Management Systems, Microsoft Office (all versions including Office 365) Group Policy, VDI, Citrix, and other related programs

• Ability to learn new programs as needed.

• Programing skills in Powershell, Visual Studio and other programming tools as needed.

• Familiarity with automated application deployment such as SCCM a plus.

• Familiarity with desktop/application virtualization a plus
