Job Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, budgeting, developing internal accounting controls, tracking high volume corporate client accounts and building a strong financial team.
This position will report directly to the Controller and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process
backup in place for every critical operation
Work side by side the Controller to create new internal accounting policies and maintain/update existing policies
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive teams
Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules
Supervisors the AP clerk and A/R Specialist performance.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Provide audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules and documents
Review and improve daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow
Perform job functions with minimal supervision
Create and maintain adequate and appropriate procedural documentation
Provide special project assistance as required by the Controller
Provide coverage / back-up for key activities of financial staff

Experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Proficient with MS Suite, with advanced Excel skills
Ability to produce quality correspondence, spreadsheets, reports and presentations
Advanced research and analysis skills for financial and operating data, including planning and implementation of selected solutions
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor degree from accredited university, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Ten or more years of accounting experience; manufacturing or public accounting preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills and a high attention to detail
