Details
The Position:
The Systems Administrator provides technical leadership, collaborating across functional teams to deliver on IT Operations tasks and
projects. This engineer will be responsible for all aspects of enterprise systems and applications deployment, administration, design,
configuration, automation and integration efforts in a VMware virtualized Linux and Windows server multi-site corporate production
environment. Key responsibilities include RHEL and CentOS Linux systems administration, automation, and enterprise application
administration.
Responsibilities:
Primary owner and SME for Linux OS and assigned applications
Performs daily operations support functions including systems deployment, upgrade, patching, monitoring, SME problem
escalation and troubleshooting, incident response and resolution
Deploys and configures OS for Web/App/DB, Apache, MySQL, DNS, SSL certificates and other system components based on
vendor best practice and internal standards.
Deploys and configures Linux automation infrastructure to automate and standardize Linux configuration and patching
Configures and upgrades enterprise applications such as BeyondTrust access management applications and underlying
security components
Assists with administration of monitoring infrastructure platform to include configuration and dashboard creation
Collaborates with peers and other functional teams to push through and deliver security initiatives and critical projects in timely
fashion
Follows defined ITIL change management processes with ticketing systems and InfoSec security policies
Develops document such as upgrade plans, deployment plans, SOPs
Participates in team on-call rotation
Travel less than 10%
Qualifications
Requirements:
8+ years of operations administration experience with RHEL servers in a high availability secured enterprise production
environment
Extensive hands-on experience on Ansible (Preferred) or Salt automation infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of Bash and Python scripting, PowerShell is a plus
Strong working knowledge monitoring systems such as MS System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) or Solarwinds
In-depth knowledge of networking, virtualization, storage, backup, physical server and other infrastructure components
Good communication skills to collaborate with teams and present technology briefings to peers and management
Capable of managing conflicting priorities and maintain focus on critical projects.
Preferred seasoned Windows systems administrative skills, with windows cluster and MS SQL experience
Requires 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
Master’s degree is preferred
