Job Description:
The consultant supports the continuation and expansion of the comprehensive credit risk management program of the Branch to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
The consultant assists the senior members in the Risk Management Department (RMD) in maintaining an effective, efficient credit risk framework including updating relevant calculations and reports,
The consultant should pro-actively advise RMD members on credit risk conditions of the Branch's profile and ensure credit risk limits are monitored in a timely and effective manner and escalate exceptions to related superior authorities.
This role should also cover some responsibilities in the operational risk management area.
Responsibilities:
Performing credit loss provision analysis and economic capital analysis
Analyzing loan applicant's financial status, credits, and property evaluations to determine credit worthiness and feasibility of granting loans; Coordinating with other departments and customers to drive the credit process and ensure timely provision of information during the application, assessment, approval and monitoring phases
Post-lending Management: Reviewing customer's rating proposal and asset classification proposal; Reviewing credit system reports, notes, documents and reporting irregularities to the Head on regular basis; Verifying and examining financial information and accuracy of loan applications and closing documents; Monitoring and analyzing performance of the lending portfolios and sub portfolios
Assisting in revision of the Branch's risk related policies and procedures on a regular basis to make sure they are in line with regulatory requirements
Preparing monthly comprehensive risk report by performing statistical analysis on the
Branch's credit assets, including asset quality changes, credit ratings migration, maturity schedule, industry exposure, geographical distribution and etc.
Assisting in other credit/operational risk related projects and responsibilities
Required Skills and Personal Attributes:
Knowledge of the financial markets, banking operations and financial statement analysis
Strong interpersonal, team-working and organizational communication skills
Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail
Effective problem-solving and influencing skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel)
Qualifications:
BS in Quantitative discipline required. Advanced degree preferred
1-3 years of related experience in banking or risk management
Prior experience at a Chinese bank preferred
Bilingual Mandarin mandatory
