Job Description
Seeking a mid-level Data Center engineer in our Network Operations Center (NOC) in Houston, TX.
This is a tier 2 level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in virtualization, enterprise storage systems, replication technologies and DR architectures, storage and backup, networking and telecommunications.
This position will work closely with our team of senior engineers and infrastructure group to maintain, update, and introduce new functionality to the existing environment.
This person will also assist in supporting the Windows server environment and other server / storage infrastructure projects will be assigned as needed.
Technical Requirements:
Must have experience supporting and maintaining experience with Cisco routing/switching platforms and IOS
Must have experience supporting and maintaining Cisco Meraki
Must have experience supporting and maintaining ASA firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls
Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP routing.
In depth knowledge of wireless topologies.
Experienced with in-depth protocol analysis
Demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocol,
routing/switching configurations and firewall technologies
Experience with network topologies such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, GbE VLAN, and SONET
Experience in implementing converged networks to include VoIP, VTC and QoS methods
Demonstrated knowledge with content switching and load balancers
Troubleshooting complex network issues such as performance analysis, protocol problems, hardware failures and WAN/LAN connectivity issues
VoIP component configuration and deployment experience is a plus
Knowledge and experience with Juniper platforms is a plus
Have a general knowledge of systems and enterprise storage technologies
Typical Experience:
Five+ years in-depth experience maintaining and supporting technology solutions that utilize technical skills described above
Five+ years in-depth experience supporting and troubleshooting a multi-server windows
Domain network environment
Experience working directly with technical engineers and practice managers as well as nontechnical end users
Performance Abilities:
Handles escalations from Tier 1 teams.
Must be available onsite during normal business hours.
Follow standards. Update and provide documentation of current and new processes which adhere to best practices
Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects
