Job Description
The IT Business Analyst overall responsibility is for analyzing the business needs of clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions.
To do this, the business analyst will need to work closely with the Business Sponsor, Project Manager, subject matter experts, and the project team.
Assess the business needs to help identify business problems and propose solutions
Serve as a change agent to help transition the firm from our existing environment into an environment of technology-driven solutions that will enhance the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of our global practice
Examination of current business processes and make recommendations for improving quality and/or increasing efficiency within business unit operations
Formally documents business, functional, and technical requirements following an SDLC Project delivery
Framework process and templates, including functional requirements specifications, requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), use cases, storyboards, workflow diagrams, and data flow diagrams
Create and maintain process, user, and instructional documentation
Drive data gathering, review and analysis of data working closely with business partners to distinguish user requests from true needs
Decompose high-level information into granular details and general understanding
Communicate system requirements to system analysts and engineers using functional specifications, flow charts, story boards, use cases, personas, user stories, and process diagrams
Primary liaison, acting as an interface between business partners, development team, and technology providing subject matter expertise on technical systems and processes for assigned area
Regularly meets with stakeholders to review and validate the business and functional requirements; performs targeted system testing with the help of testers to ensure the successful implementation of new systems
Obtain stakeholder buy-in and proactively manage expectations throughout the project
Responsible for supporting multiple projects at one time
Alignment of user acceptance strategy and plan to the business requirements
Meet with project stakeholders to clearly capture business requirements, critical milestones, and dependencies – may require travel to other offices
Coordinate the creation and follow up of project related surveys and end-user communications that clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
A minimum of 4 years as a business analyst successfully delivering impactful business process
improvements and solutions
8+ years of IT experience working in the legal industry or professional services
Strong understanding of project management principles / methodology
Must have business requirements and functional specifications experience
Has experience in business and functional requirements management, business process analysis and design, and leading stakeholder workshops
Must be analytical and solutions oriented towards solving business issues and opportunities
Must be able to distill critical data and help to identify required actions based on indicative results
Agile and DevOps experience preferred
Proficient at developing business process design (Process flows, diagrams, etc.) and in using MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues or improvements in processes
Strong written and oral communication skills and a keen level of attention to detail
Explains technical concepts in written and spoken communications using non-technical language; outstanding business writing skills
Self-motivated, self-starter, focused on delivery of deadlines and adherence of quality assurance procedures
Proven ability to work under pressure; ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities
Team awareness – recognizes and understands both personal and team dynamics and relationships; recognizes motivational issues and provides incentive
Understanding of technology, architecture, development, and quality assurance
Experience working with global teams; ability to adapt to different cultures and work environments
High level of discretion, comfortable handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
