Job Description

The Developer will work in a group responsible for developing and supporting multi-protocol distributed data communication systems.

The system utilizes multiple technologies, such as messaging and file transfer, to integrate diverse applications across the enterprise.

The candidate should be comfortable handling multiple priorities, tight deadlines, working both independently and as a member of a team, as well as interacting with other developers, analysts, and support personnel outside of the group.

Essential skills required will include strong problem solving, excellent communication, and self-initiative.

The candidate will be expected to be involve in the full life cycle of the systems development from requirements gathering through development and testing to on-going support and maintenance.

The position will involve some on-call support during regular business hours, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and support existing platforms written in C, Java and Perl

Develop, maintain and support checker/maintenance scripts written in Perl and shell scripting

Provide on-call support as part of a team rotation. This includes researching, reviewing and remediating production issues

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and minimum of 3 years of experience

3+ years development experience

Working knowledge of the Linux operating environment, including navigating directories and editing files using Linux editor required

Programming in Java, Perl, Oracle required

Using Linux Compilers required

TCP/IP Protocol familiarity preferred

C, shell scripting, SQL preferred

Support operations team with delivery issue research via weekly on call rotation

Familiarity with git, Jira, Jenkins and ServiceNow a plus.
