Job Description

The Unix group is a global team responsible for the maintenance and support of the Linux infrastructure systems.

The team plays a critical role and works closely with global counterparts in maintaining the production infrastructure and provide unix related services to our clients.

This is an exciting role and the successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to provide support for the firm's Unix / Linux infrastructure.

The team operates in a follow the sun support model.

The candidate must be a good team player, highly articulate, and be able to work well in a high pressure and technically challenging environment.

The candidate should be passionate about supporting Redhat linux based, highly virtualized environment.
Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills are particularly important.

Unix requirements:

RedHat Linux 7.x Administrator RedHat Operating system.

Ability to support and in-depth knowledge of Cisco UCS preferred.

Veritas Cluster / Volume manager, Manage Veritas based clusters.

Experience in VMware administration, Site recovery manager. (SRM)

Experience with Redhat Satellite, Ansible configuration and automation, Kubernetes, Docker.

Role / Principal Accountabilities

Support / Manage and Install Redhat based Linux systems.

Troubleshooting support and system performance issues.

Handling of trouble tickets, user requests, proactive maintenance.

Support weekend BCP / DR tests.

Assisting application teams in post-configuration of new servers deployed.

Candidate should have a good understanding of ITIL and Change management policies.

Cordination with Infrastructure teams and Business IT managers to deliver projects on schedule.

Implement engineered solutions to improve efficiency and stability of the infrastructure.

Provide documentation for 1st line Operations team and maintain run books.

Weekend oncall production support on a rotation basis.

Skills & Experience Required:

Deep understanding of Redhat Linux OS

Redhat Satellite, Ansible Automation, Kubernetes, Docker preferred

DNS, NTP, LDAP, Kerberos.

Strong understanding of Virtual (VMware) and physical networking configuration.

Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and provide resolution.

Knowledge of veritas product including veritas volume manager, Cluster server OR experience with Redhat Clustering.

Python, Bash, Shell scripting

AWS or cloud knowledge is a plus

Ability and desire to learn and work independently as well as in a team

Project management and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Strong understanding and experience with Redhat Linux and related technologies.

Analytical and disciplined approach to problem solving.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with in the infrastructure teams.

Previous experience with supporting a banking infrastructure is preferred.

Additional qualifications:

TCP/IP, NFS, Networks and Firewalls.

Client/Server systems

Familiarity with Enterprise Monitoring systems is desirable

Good understanding of Information Security policies.
