Job Description

Technology Project Manager

The Technology Project Manager will be a central part of the team responsible for the management of projects related to the development, administration and management of the Firm's the experience management platform and related systems and processes.

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Experience Management, the primary role of the Technology Project Manager will be to manage projects that support knowledge management systems and processes related to experience management.

The Project Manager works directly with department leaders and other stakeholders to align business and technical requirements define and execute project plans and employ change management strategies to maximize adoption and further the firm's knowledge management goals.

S/he will contribute to the development of project management methodologies and best practices across the team.

This role will work closely with the IT, Marketing and other business functions, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

In coordination with the team's Senior Manager, Experience Management and the Director of Practice Information and Marketing Technology:

Analyze business goals, specific practice and department needs, use cases, functional requirements and end-user experience expectations in order to align effective technology and process solutions

Develop working knowledge of the content and configuration of the experience management platform and integrated data sources

Establish tracking reporting standards to measure and communicate progress on individual projects and against strategic goals

Conduct end-user training and provide support for "how to" questions and technical issues

Lead projects to develop and implement enhancements to the experience management platform and related systems

Identify opportunities to improve and/or add to the experience management platform and related processes and integration sources

Develop project requirements and governance documentation including requirements analysis, project plans, status reports and change management plans

Other duties, as needed

Required:

Bachelor's degree

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or professional services environment working with practice-related information and processes

Experience managing projects from inception through planning, execution and completion

Proficiency in mapping business processes, conducting needs analysis and aligning functional and technical requirements

Demonstrated experience managing process improvement, software development and/or technology implementation initiatives with an emphasis on maximizing adoption

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint

Preferred:

Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, as well as change management strategies

Familiarity with legal technology such as experience or expertise systems, research tools, work flow systems and/or legal project management or practice management tools

Basic understanding of law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology
