Job Description

The candidate will develop a Java-based rules engine and workflow system.

She/he will integrate this system to external data interfaces using REST and SOAP technologies.

She/he will be responsible for data modeling and integration or the solution with an Oracle database.

She/he will be responsible for integrating the solution with a real-time messaging bus.

Responsibilities

Handle multiple simultaneous tasks and be adept at prioritizing her/his work as well as that of the team

Focus on the project priorities in order to deliver the required product at the scheduled time

Comfortable collaborating with business analysts, product managers, quality assurance groups and client services to refine requirements and plan implementation strategies

Experience in problem solving, planning, and estimating development efforts

Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and be able to move projects forward to completion with minimal supervision

Be involved in the full life cycle of the systems development from requirement gathering through development and testing to on-going support and maintenance

Some on-call support outside of regular business hours

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software/Computer Engineering (or foreign degree equivalent)

8+ years' development experience

Strong communication skills

Primary skill-set should be that of a Java developer with extensive experience (7+ years) working on Linux based enterprise systems

Experience with relational databases using SQL and JDBC

Experience with Spring application framework

Experience with HTML, CSS, JSON, and JavaScript a plus

Experience with Perl and other scripting languages a plus

Experience with Linux, XML, Git and Eclipse

Knowledge of financial markets data is a plus
