NETWORK MANAGER

An established and growing manufacturing organization is actively searching for an experienced Network Manager to join their evolving team.

The ideal Network Manager will still have hands-on domain skills as well as the ability to assess technology strategically and possess a strong leadership presence.

You should come from a lead engineering role with deep technical experience but are ready to jump into the next career phase by coaching and growing a team of tech professionals, while still leading as the global internetworking technology SME.

The Network Manager will play a critical role as technology evangelist and people leader in the company’s Infrastructure Transformation.

You will be taking over a team of permanent employees as well as a team of consultants.

You will be integral in setting technical standards, yet always be exploring the new ones, and keeping the company’s network at the leading edge.

Responsibilities:

Evangelize industry best-practice technology process and thinking for delivering great outcomes for our customers.

Deliver against aggressive company-wide IT initiatives, including Network & Cloud Transformation.

Work on a team of engineers, technical leaders, analysts to enable new features for internal and external customers, while maintaining security and stability.

Prototype, design, build/deliver and steward resilient platforms for a business capability.

Mentor and lead others in technologies, tools, and processes. Formulate and execute a long-term talent acquisition strategy.

Operate in an agile capability team where quality and security are built into daily work.

Attack roadblocks and impediments to delivering incremental value.

Aggressively drive out technical debt by avoiding the way we’ve done things in the past.

Be the technical owner of the company’s 200+ site, multi-million dollar Network Transformation, implementing all new R&S gear, SDWAN, and Cisco Managed Services across the globe.

Requirements:

Bachelor or Masters in CS or equivalent engineering/technical experience.

10+ years of progressive Network Engineering experience

2+ years in a Team Lead and/or Manager role

Global enterprise level experience is required

Hands-on network gear configuration and troubleshooting skills (within last 2 years)

Designed/built/run international networks across more than 100 sites, spanning 3+ continents.

Coding/scripting proficiency to enable network automation.

Competency with object-oriented programming (.Net, Java, Javascript, Ruby, Python)

Experience within large SaaS platforms such as Workday, SAP, MS Dynamics, Salesforce

Customer-facing Service Provider environment experience is desired.

Some experience instantiating cloud platforms services (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)

Dabbled in scripting and automation skills. (Python, Perl, Go, Yaml, Jenkins)

Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development.

Strong listening, pragmatic feedback, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Expertise working with SaaS, IIOT, and/or Manufacturing environments.
