CLOUD DEVOPS ENGINEER

A global manufacturing firm is actively searching for several experienced Cloud DevOps Engineers to join their growing IT team.

The firm is going through a technical evolution and the Cloud DevOps Engineer is critical path for both transformation and innovation.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with cloud design, delivery, and operations native, as well as have fluency in networking technologies, automation, and scripting, to help the company move to a Cloud-
First operating model and create best-in-class, agile, on-demand IT products and services. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.

Responsibilities:

Work with customer business units to use cloud services to achieve revenue faster

Design, codes, and test new enterprise-wide cloud environments

Automate commodity and common cloud formation tasks

Write high-quality scripting compliant with enterprise and industry regulations

Author and iterate tech-to-tech documentation

Align with SAFE Agile principles

Continually make cloud setup and delivery better, faster, cheaper for our customers

Stay current with latest cloud tech and obtain/maintain cloud certifications

Collaborate with capability team to build an agile culture in teams

Act as a mentor and learner- always answer and ask questions

Help drive the architecture/road map alignment

Assist in leaving behind the way we’ve always done it and adopt orchestrated, automated, cloud-leveraged service delivery model

Apply process improvements to facilitate improved outcomes

Bring industry best-practices and new thinking to the team

Ability to take initiative and find ways to get things done

Demonstrate a curiosity for solving problems, and initiative to make improvements in an environment with significant technical debt and the accompanying cultural inertia where a permanent bootstrap mentality is required

Experience and success in balancing program, change, people and external vendor management

Demonstrate both strong analytic and big picture capabilities in problem solving approaches

Strong listening, feedback, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Recognized for high quality and high impact results for self and others

Challenges traditional way of doing things by moving beyond the easy, traditional, and obvious

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

1-5 years of related Cloud DevOps experience

Hands-on experience within AWS, Azure, or GCP (Azure preferred)

Experience with Java, Python, SQL, or other domain-specific programming languages

Experience at a start-up, technology company, or in enterprise IT with demonstrable cloud development impact

Experience working in a Cloud-First operating model or within a dedicated cloud team

Service Provider/MSP experience preferred

Hands-on full-lifecycle experience with cradle-to-grave revenue creating cloud product/service

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Past experience building servers, storage, datacenter ecosystem is valuable

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas

Legal authorization to work in the US is required
