Job Description
Product Requirements Engineer
Job Description
Our Product Requirements Engineers are members of our Product team and are the subject matter experts on IT systems and their interfaces and APIs.
They help our software developers build our "system inspectors ", which connect to all kinds of IT infrastructure and systems in order to extract configuration data, as well as outbound integrations that send data to other systems.
They understand what data is meaningful to information technology professionals, figure out the best method to interact with that system API? SSH? PowerShell? what calls and commands? and set up sandbox environments for our developers to use when they build our products.
Are you an IT professional who has always been first to dive into new systems? Are you fluent in APIs and SSH commands? Are you passionate about automation and "freeing the data " from siloed systems? If so, then we’d like to hear from you!
Essential Responsibilities
Gain a deep understanding of our product and the problem that it solves
Perform baseline research on APIs and other management interfaces of systems that we’re looking to integrate with
Synthesize research into opinions and requirements to inform how we will build our "inspectors " and other platform integrations
Work directly with our Engineering team during the development cycle to make sure our efforts are on-target
Work with vendors and partners to build and maintain the lab of equipment and services that we use to build, QA, and maintain our integrations
Work with our Education team to guide creation of technical documentation for our customers
Assist with final signoff on changes to our product before they go out into the world
Work in a high paced environment with a rapidly changing and improving product
